Key Person System

As part of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) , all children will have a key person assigned to them, which allows your child to build a familiar and trusting relationship with a member of pre-school staff who will support and help them to develop throughout their time at pre-school. Where possible, we also try to assign the same key person to any future siblings who attend the pre-school

Healthy me!

We encourage all children to eat healthily at pre-school – with so many fun-filled activities on offer, it’s only natural that they get hungry! That’s why we ask all parents to provide their children with a named healthy snack for the morning sessions and/or a named healthy lunch for the afternoon sessions. We see snack time and lunch time as important occasions for the chuildren with many opportunities for developing social behaviour and when many intersting conversations ensure! The chuildren bring a packed lunch to the afternoon sessions, and this is another step forward in developing their independance, towards the time when they will be expected to manage a lunchbox at school.

• We don’t offer children juice at pre-school.

• Water and free milk is provided throughout the day.

• Please provide your child with their water bottle

• Healthy morning snack, such as fruit or breadsticks

• Packed lunches such as wraps, squeezy yoghurts and fruit

• Please provide a named beaker if your child struggles drinking from a cup.

Please ensure to cut any fruit or foods, such as grapes, in half to avoid your child choking.

• Please notify the pre-school by email or call by10am if your child is unable to attend due to illness

• If your child has been sick or had diarrhoea then a full 48 hours must have elapsed since the last episode

• Please also inform us of any history of convulsions, asthma, allergies, medications or special dietary requirements

We also believe that children should have the opportunity to play outside where possible, so we provide a range of activities throughout the year mirroring the indoor opportunities; children can choose the environment in which they want to learn and explore.

Facilities we have to support his are:

We provide a secure, warm and welcoming environment where your child can feel comfortable and safe – and please don’t worry; the wellbeing of the children is always our biggest priority. That’s why we’re always here to discuss any worries or concerns you might have.
